MD examination : Clinical skills..!!

I did not top any exam but got in engineering and medical on merit. However could not appear for IIT entrance because of change in HSC exam schedule due to teachers strike.

Then a career counsellor told me you will fail in medicine and pass engineering with flying colours. So I decided to take the challenge and selected medicine.

By Gods grace passed all exams in first attempt. I got admission to MD through court as girl having 27 marks less than me was selected as she had God father. So I started 6 months late and my guide did not permit me to appear in normal course. So I requested her to allow me to submit thesis and I will accept failure. External Examiner who read my thesis wanted to pass me but I told him my agreement with my guide.

Next term our exam was in AFMC which is rival of our college BJ. So chances of BJ guys failing were very high.

I got a case of VSD (as per expert) who also had hemiplegia. None of the experts and examiners had noticed that the child had hemiplegia.

When I told my diagnosis first two examiners asked me to have glass of water and relieve my anxiety. When I insisted, they called two other examiners to watch how an "idiot" was appearing for MD examination. External examiner asked the father of child ..

Then the internal examiners from AFMC joined the show. One of them directly asked me ..

"Why did you do neurological examination when expert had told you that child had VSD?"

...I politely (😁😁) said, Sir it is my duty to check for complications of primary disorder.

Thrombo-embolism is known complication...

To my surprise none of the other students who had presented the same case before me had noticed hemiplegia, and to everyones surprise I passed with flying colours as I had proved to be better than the examiners..!!
